Save Walderslade School

The small but popular Walderslade School on Dargets Road has been saved from closure by Conservative Councillors.

Despite attempts by members of the opposition parties to close the school, the Conservative Cabinet voted to scrap plans to review school places locally.

Walderslade School was under threat of closure as Opposition Councillors tried to protect larger schools in their own areas.

Conservatives care about the smaller schools.

I do not agree that saving the school was a good idea. The parents cause traffice chaos each morning and afternoon and appear to have a total disregard for the zigzags and double yellow lines outside the school. They also park on corners which makes negotiating the road very dangerous. Contrary to what the school said a couple of years ago its not the residents who make the road dangerous its the parents. Perhaps the school should of been closed for safety's sake. I do not use the road during the week because of this and am amazed there hasn't been a serious accident.
